Delete account and data
Last updated: 15.09.2026
This is a translation. The German version is the authoritative one; in case of discrepancy, it prevails.
The short way: in the app
Open Typical and go to More → Settings → Delete account. Deletion runs immediately, without any request to us and without a waiting period.
What is deleted
- your account ID and your sign-in account
- your display name, your symbol and your profile picture in all rounds
- your membership in all rounds
- your device token for notifications
- your chat messages in all rounds
- your reports and the people you have hidden
- rounds in which nobody else has an account, in full
What remains
The prediction texts of your rounds. They belong to the round, not to your person: a sentence you wrote about somebody is part of the other players' shared game state. After deletion its authorship points at a nameless card ("—").
If you were host of a round, the office passes to another player so that the group keeps its round.
If you want the texts deleted as well, write to us — see below. We will weigh that in the individual case against the interests of the remaining players.
Deleting data, keeping the account
You do not have to give up your account to get rid of data.
- Withdraw your prediction texts. Write to support@typical.cloud, ideally from the address you sign in with — then it happens right away. The sentences you wrote are emptied in all of your rounds; the other players' squares stay, only the text disappears. Your account, your rounds and everything else remain.
- Anything else on request. A single chat message, your profile picture, one particular sentence: any further deletion under Art. 17 GDPR goes to the same address, and a human decides on it. We answer within one month.
Deleting without the app
If you no longer have the app, write to support@typical.cloud. State your account ID if you noted it down, otherwise the name of a round and your display name in it. We answer within one month.
While you still have the app, the shorter route is Settings → Support & feedback: the email that opens there already carries your account ID.
Retention
After deletion we retain nothing of yours — with one exception: if our support has intervened in data, for example because you asked for your texts to be deleted, the line recording that it did so, and why, remains. Without it there would be no way afterwards to establish whether the intervention was justified. Technical logs of our infrastructure provider which include IP addresses expire by themselves after a short period.
